Ugh! I want to pull my dirty hair out and dump the stinky stuff at the feet of the phantom cyber geeks behind MSN, Yahoo and the like. My email was hacked into today and NO, there is no way you can get anyone on the phone. First you have to click your mouse a thousand times to get through the reset password process and hope your wacky brain remembers all the security questions you put in to begin with; if not, and nope, I didn’t, then you get locked out of even trying.
Next you get put into a batch email security center that I’m told can take 24 hours to get a response and if they don’t feel you are the correct person, you STILL can’t get in.
Yahoo, let me reset my password, but then I received another email that my alternate email address was changed and my password was changed, yet again. I immediately went to reset it, activate additional security and update my account information. However, it would have been nice to be able to get a live person, (preferably someone who speaks English) on the phone, but Noooooooo. Everything is done online. Crapola!
Who the hec are those cyber phantoms anyway? Shouldn’t they have to face their accuser? And what happens if I can't ever prove to those phantoms that I own that email account? Are all those preciously saved and meticulously organized emails lost to the bone yard of cyberdom? The human factor is being removed from services upon which we heaviliy rely. People become phone numbers, loan numbers, ticket numbers and IP address numbers.
Do you know what happens to a baby when they are not held, loved or nutured? They cry out and then die. Hmm, not too different from revolution and the fall of an empire...
